Quality Childcare

The Children’s Place provides quality, short-term childcare for children from two months to six years old. Our staffed Teachers all are CPR and First Aid certified. Childcare Volunteers are also on site to help lead activities and learning sessions.

Teacher Goals

Teachers provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, experiences, and materials that are selected to engage children in active, meaningful learning and to achieve the following goals:

  • Create an environment that is conducive to role-modeling positive family interactions and supports positive adult-child interactions
  • Foster positive self-image and a sense of emotional well-being
  • Develop social skills
  • Encourage children to think, reason, question, and experiment
  • Encourage language (speaking and listening) and literacy development (emergent reading and writing awareness)
  • Enhance physical development
  • Encourage creative expression and representation
  • Respect cultural diversity and the importance of families

Hours of Operation:
Mondays through Thursdays 9am-3pm & Fridays 9am-12pm

Weekly childcare allowance based on age:
2 months – 18 months: 2 hours per day.
18 months – 6 years: Max of 3 hours per day.

Membership fees:
An annual family membership fee is $30

*Hourly Fees:
1 Child – $6.00 an hour
2+ Children – $3.00 per hour

*$5 Late Pick-up Fee, plus the cost of the extra time in care.
*No Show Fee: the entire cost of the time reserved.

Facility Rental
Looking for a place for your next event or party? Our facility is available for rent and we have the best deal in town!

Rental charge for members:
$115.00 flat rate up to four hours; $10.00 per hour for additional hours.

Rental charge for nonmembers:
$140.00 flat rate up to four hours; $20.00 per hour for additional hours

Deposit required:
$20.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to reserve your date. Balance of rental fee is due on or before rental date.

Attendance requirement:
At least one adult (age 21 or older) must be on the premises at all times.

Support Groups

Babies and Parents Group
Dates: Fridays 9:30am-11am
Type: Support Group
Description: This group is for people who have recently become parents and would like to meet other new parents to discuss questions and concerns in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Nonmembers are welcome and no registration is necessary.
Location: The Children’s Place

Toddler Play Group
Dates: Fridays 12:30 – 2:00pm
Type: Play Group
Description: This group is for parents and toddlers (ages 1 to 3+). We gather to enjoy song time and activities with parents and children, as well as quality time with each other. Non-members welcome and no registration is necessary.  There is no cost to participants.
