Volunteer at The Children's Place

The Children's Place and Parent Education Center would not be the organization it is today if it was not for the large population of volunteers that have come through our doors. We employ only 5 paid part time staff. All other tasks are performed by volunteers. The majority of our volunteers work on the childcare with one of our teachers. A volunteers child(ren) stay free when they work a scheduled shift. Shifts last 1 1/2 to 2 hours and are based on the needs of TCP and the availability of the volunteers. In order to show volunteers a small token of appreciation, volunteers receive 1 coupon (value $5.00) for every shift worked to be used for future childcare. Volunteering on a TCP committee or for an event is a great way to utilize talents and knowledge that you possess to help the children's place. It is also a great opportunity to try something new in a supportive and appreciative atmosphere. Some areas we have volunteers opportunities in are: budgeting, marketing, computers, fund raising, grant writing, scheduling, publicity, event planning and childcare.
