Donating to The Children's Place and Parent Education Center

Donors play a critical role at TCP helping us achieve our mission of strengthening families. TCP needs you to ensure that we continue to serve all families by offering them support and resources that strengthen them and the community. We are a 501-3C nonprofit organization - your contributions are tax deductible. Why Give? One Family’s Story The Children’s Place has been a special part of my family’s life. Although my children are older now and we no longer go there, we have many happy memories of our times at TCP. It was not only a place for my children to play and be nurtured; it was also a welcome place for me. I started my relationship with TCP as a parent volunteer. It was a great way for me to get to know the staff and see first hand what a wonderful way they have with all the children. I became a director and soon found myself part of a wonderful group of caring, dedicated women. My children loved being with Miss Kay and Miss Lezley and so did I. Everybody at TCP works really hard to make sure our children are their top priority. The Kay Sidway Fund is one big way we can help them do that. That is why my husband and I continue to donate what we can for such a wonderful cause. The Children’s Place is a vital, compassionate organization that we feel proud to support. -Denise Sojka, Former Member and Director Ways To Give: TCP’s Annual Fund: The Kay Sidway Fund The Kay Sidway Fund is TCP’s annual fund, named after Kay Sidway, TCP’s lead teacher and educator for 28 years. The Kay Sidway Fund was developed to provide a source of funding for TCP’s most significant expense, staff salaries. By donating to the Fund, you are ensuring that we continue to achieve excellence in childcare, strengthen families and provide enriching programs for all children and families. Many companies offer this benefit to employees where the company matches donations made to non-profits and charities. Some match 100% of your donation while others match a smaller percent. This benefit is of no cost to you. Find out if your employer or your spouse’s employer offers this program by contacting your HR department or talking with your supervisor. Your $50.00 donation could become $100.00 by participating in this program. United Way Designations Another way some people donate to TCP is through their United Way contribution. You can designate TCP as your donor agency when you make your donation to United Way. Your donation then goes directly to TCP. For more information, contact your local United Way office. Bequests and Planned Giving Remember TCP in your estate or will and provide an enduring memorial of your support of children and families. Please contact us at (603) 224-9920 to find out more information. In-Kind Donations TCP welcomes donations of any kind. Members and friends of TCP donate office supplies, furniture, office equipment, childcare supplies and services such as plumbing and computer technology. If you have a service or item you wish to donate, contact TCP at (603) 224- 9920. Special Events TCP holds a yard sale each year to benefit the organization. As you clean out your closets, downsize, or are ready to get rid of the baby toys, consider dropping them off at TCP for the yard sale. Items must be in sellable condition (no stuffed animals please). The yard sale normally takes place in September each year; however, we accept donations for this event year round. Each spring TCP holds its annual auction. Donations to this event are gladly accepted.
